Silver Eagles have long been recognized as among the world's most popular bullion coins, and are the only 1 oz Silver bullion coin produced by the U.S. Mint. 2021 marks the end of an era as the last issue to feature the classic design used since 1986.

The obverse of each round features a closeup portrayal of a native American with braided hair gazing at the distance to the right. This design by James Earle Fraser was highly beloved and praised in the history of US coinage. Above the effigy of the chieftain is imprinted with “LIBERTY.”
The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Buffalo Round bears a side profile portrayal of the American buffalo, also known as Bison. The bison gazes at the grass on the ground it stands on with its majestic bulked body. The inscriptions surrounding the buffalo display the weight and purity as “ONE TROY OUNCE. 999 FINE SILVER”. Apart from this generic design, the reverse would depict the mint mark or change the positioning of the identifying marks.
